Victorian Antique Heart Engraved Sweetheart Locket with Pastes / Rhinestones
This is a lovely and special Victorian gold-filled, engraved picture locket which dates back most likely to the 1890's. The locket face features an engraving of a heart, flowers, scrollwork and an abstract 'arrow' all of which are set with clear paste stones which resemble rhinestones but are really much nicer and older than the cut glass which we know as rhinestones today.
CHAIN DETAILS: This locket ships on an 18" long necklace made from new 14k gold-filled fine 1mm flat wire curb chain. The toggle clasp closes in front and is a new, 14k gold-filled clasp. (Please note that while this chain and clasp are not vintage, we do have vintage options available; please email us for more information, additional sizes or if you would like no chain at all.)
CHARM DIMENSIONS: Approximately 1" diameter, 1.25" with top loop.
CONDITION: As can be seen in the second photo, the face of this locket has some wear to the gold-filled surface which can mostly only be seen on an angle; the inside of one side of the locket has also sustained some scratching. Other than the aforementioned, the locket is in good vintage condition. The inner picture frame and celluloid are all intact on one side only. The locket opens and shuts well.
DESIGNER: Marked SKM & Co.
