Graduated Five Diamond and Gold Antique Half-Hoop ring
This diamond ring dates to a wonderful time in antique jewelry, approximately a century or more ago, when diamonds were set in 18k gold and platinum. This was the standard of that time, roughly between and around the end of the 19th century influence of Victorians and the down-shift of these materials brought about by the onset of WWII. Diamonds in this time were always set in a white metal, usually platinum, while the band was a contrasting yellow gold. Settings and galleries were designed most often in elegant combinations of odd numbers--featured alone or in three's and five's...always followinging a mathematically pleasing pattern, a geometry or a flower perfectly falling into the proportions of the Golden Mean...
We imagine that this ring would make a wonderful engagement ring or wedding band, commemorate an anniversary, celebrate an April birthday, or delight its new owner just because it is beautiful alone or in a stack.
