Heart Shaped Seed Pearl Pavé Set Antique Ring
This ring was initially worn as a 14k gold heart lapel pin, also called a stick pin. The heart is pavé set with seed pearls, a popular stone setting used for diamonds, turquoise and small pearls called 'seed' pearls when measuring under 2mm.
The pin was most likely made and first worn during the Victorian period, the latter half of the 1800's. This heart joined our collection at the shop as a ring; we salvaged the heart at the top of the pin and used the stick part of the pin itself to form the ring band. It is deeply satisfying to be able to re-purpose these kinds of antique delicate pieces for new wear, as stick pins are not often worn today by any other than the dandiest of society, though their mainstream popularity began in the 1800's and lasted through the 1970's.
This ring would make a beautiful love token for a lover, a sweetheart, a mother, or for someone born in June.
