Cata Amethyst and Diamond Gold Antique Halo Ring

This beautiful ring is a vintage rendition of a centuries old style, the popular halo ring, so-called as it involves a center stone paired in contrast to the 'halo' of stones around it. (Nota Bene ~ The halo can be all diamonds bordering a colorful stone as it is here, or the center stone can be a diamond with a halo of color such as sapphire, ruby, pearl, turquoise etc. 

While not hallmarked other than with a gold karat stamp, we believe this ring to date to the first half of the 20th century.  The amethyst is natural, not synthetic, as are the round cut diamonds.  We believe this ring was made in Europe, which makes it all the more evocative of a romantic moment in years that were often turbulent in and around WWI and then WWII.  We imagine that it would make a wonderful engagement ring, or to commemorate an anniversary, to celebrate a February birthday, or just because it is beautiful.

MATERIALS: 18K Yellow & White Gold, Natural Amethyst, Natural Diamonds.

DIAMONDS:  Round Cut, eight total stones.
