Wrap Around Sterling Silver Snake Ring with Stone-Set Eyes and Head.
Fascinated by the snake as it has been depicted throughout the world in art and both Western and Eastern antiquity, we have added this snake to our repertoire of our own designs. This serpent ring wraps in a tendril around the finger, and therefore can be adjusted for size to fit most fingers. Cast locally in recycled sterling silver, the head of the snake is inset with a cabochon of your choice between genuine turquoise or a rhodolite garnet, while the eyes are set with garnet cabochons.
The snake is both revered and honored as well as feared and hated by cultures from all over the world and throughout time. Snakes have figured in countless religions as both icons of wisdom and malice, the sun, the water, the source of life to name a few; the oldest of cultures regarded snakes as a symbol of healing and even eternity, forming an endless circle from head to tail.
Wherever you fall on the question of good vs. evil, it must be observed there is beauty in the serpentine curves associated with snakes. We are in awe of the shapes a snake makes as it moves or winds or rests and this ring is a perfect embodiment of one of these many elegant serpentine shapes, the coil.
